In honour of the new "Gary Come Home" styled Spongebob Movie "Sponge on the Run" Trailer, I've figured it out. Gary is a fourth dimensional villainous alien out to destroy a mysterious group of universal observers. HOW?! It won't be explained in Sponge on the Run according to the trailer, so watch this slightly-more-outlandish-than-usual theory of mine, as I have surprisingly found some evidence to come to this conclusion.
