If you get an "error" message when updating to the latest update, then you need to install this update first using this same tutorial : http://www.needrom.com/mobile/zenfone-5/ . After you install this update, you can proceed with the latest update from Asus support website shown above.

The latest update will improve the following:

1. Fixes gps positioning issues. You also might get better gps results by rooting the device using the zenfoneroot.apk found here: https://www.mediafire.com/?yw5bj7nbr1... . After you root your phone, download the app called "faster gps" found in the playstore. Now with " faster gps" installed, select your continent and country. That's it, you are done!
2. Also improves wifi and bluetooth signal reception.
3. Installs all google apps like, gmail, hangouts, google+, youtube, google music, chrome, drive, and more...
4. Improves battery life, and the screen brightness gets much better.
5. Improves the stability of the system UI.
