Blurb I wrote in the original upload (i was so emo):

Happy 3rd Anniversary to Red Velvet!

I only became a fan after Dumb Dumb in October 2015. In fact, I actually didn’t really like them initially, especially when they first debut. Like many others, I was angry at the time for the way SM handled things that happened in 2014, with all the major scandals, some including my favorite groups. I felt like SM was neglecting their other groups and to simply distract us, they decided to debut a new group (which may not be too far off from the truth tbh). As a result I associated Red Velvet with SM’s horrible management at the time.

Ignorant right? But clearly they had no control over when they will debut. They were just girls who aspired to become singers and we have no idea about the hell that they went through to get where they are. They trained for years, encountering emotional and physical hurdles. Irene and Seulgi endured the longest and while everyone else left, they were the only ones who remained and went through horrible slumps. Joy locked herself in the bathroom to sing alone because her confidence had been crushed. Wendy experienced vocal nodules right before debut and can you believe the toll that took on her? And to think that when they finally debut, after all this shit they had to endure, they were hit with such contempt? I want to give my old self a slap to the face.

And when Yeri was added to the group, another swarm of hate was directed at them yet again. Yeri sacrificed much of her childhood to train to become an idol. She has been living away from home since the 5th grade ffs! All to achieve her dream. And what did she receive in return? A ridiculous amount of hate.

One must be outright in denial to not see that Red Velvet’s own company does not give them the treatment they deserve, even after forcing them to debut during probably one of the company’s darkest moments, in the least favorable times.

But despite this all, the girls persevered. Even with the hate in the beginning, even with the less than competent support from their company, and even with the competition, they still managed to succeed. We praise Red Velvet for their versatility, music, personality, but I want to acknowledge their attitude, their persistence, their determination, their endurance, and their strength. Not many groups could have gone through this and had the same result as them.

Started from the bottom and look at them now.
