This is a lovely video with a real story behind it about a Racehorse called Arlo!
Arlo retired from racing this year, he was in training with Dr Richard Nelwand and when he retired, his owner moved him to us because he wanted to retrain his Racehorse. They joined us on the 20th April. Over the last few months, Arlo and his owner have been working really well together and are thoroughly enjoying the retraining process. Apart from a little riding before starting his retraining with Arlo, his owner hadn't ridden properly for 16 years!
When we were asked if we would like to do a demo at Urloxhey Stables as part of their open day for National Racehorse Week we thought it would be amazing to take Arlo and his owner back to the Racing stables and show what a great job that they are doing together.
It was going to be a huge ask for Arlo and his owner to demo in front of 150 people but we were confident that they were ready for an outing, even if this was a really huge one for them! Arlo settled really well and he loved the attention of the crowd.
We couldn't have been prouder of them both and what a great story for the yard to show one of their Racehorse's and owner enjoying life after Racing together!
