I'll take 'open world' for $70, please.

This video attempts to discuss the issues seen in most modern-day AAA open-world video games. Far too many games try to sell themselves by advertising the 'open world' feature when in reality, the open world leaves a lot to be desired because of its incredibly barebones nature. When seeing what successful open-world games are able to pull off, I try to narrow down the four main features that help make an open-world game thrive, namely; setting, traversal, exploration, and structure. Using Breath of the Wild, Elden Ring, and Tears of the Kingdom as templates, this video discusses what those games do well, what other games that fell short of being masterpieces could've done better, and what future video games should focus on if they want to make their open world more interactive and unique.

Thanks for watching! If you enjoyed this video, please be sure to leave a like and comment what your favourite open world games have done well or could do better.
