One of the final songs written by Roy Orbison and songwriting partner Bill Dees in 1988. There is both a cassette demo and a studio demo of the song recorded by Roy shortly before his death in which the title was changed to You're The One with a few lyric changes as well. The studio demo was completed and released on the 1992 King Of Hearts album. This unreleased studio recording made by Bill Dees is sung with the original lyrics written by he and Roy.

YOU'RE THE MAX
You give me the feeling of ascending
Touching base and lifting off on feeling
Rising through the thunder and the lightning
Now I know the wonder so exciting
The world below us doesn't know us
Still they see and feel our love acts
Between you and me Ooh, you're the max
Riding through the heaven of sensation
basking in your sunshine, sweet vibration
Holding nothing back, you're my elation
Through the night my sightless fascination
You hold me in and out of dreams waking, sleeping, loving seems relaxed
Between you and me Ooh, you're the max
You, kissing my breath away
You, sharing my yesterdays
Love tomorrow
Lead or follow
When you hold me, I know the fact
You're the max
The world below us doesn't know us
Still they see and feel our love acts
Between you and me Ooh, you're the max
Riding through the heaven of sensation
basking in your sunshine, sweet vibration
Holding nothing back, you're my elation
Through the night my sightless fascination
You hold me in and out of dreams waking, sleeping, loving seems relaxed
Between you and me Ooh, you're the max
You, kissing my breath away
You, sharing my yesterdays
You tomorrow
Lead or follow
When you hold me, I know the facts
You're the max
You're the max
You're the max
You're the max
You're the max...............
