This video will be taking three railway tracks and building a DIY anvil build. This anvil is my first ever anvil. Tools used are angle grinder with different discs, welder to weld three tracks together and Bandsaw to cut relief cuts to make grinding easier and other basic hand tools.

This DIY anvil build took about 8 hours to complete.

First took the angle grinder with sanding disk and sanded all paint off of tracks to have a nice clean surface.

Next I took grinder cut disks and started to cut out the horn of anvil. Which was a very long and hard process. The blue grinders motor burned out. That's when I decided to go and make relief cuts to make it easier on the next grinder I purchased. This made a huge difference in the ease of grinding.

And Welding the three tracks was the next order of business. I used 7018 rods and welded two side by side first, and then put the remaining one with the horn and welded bases.

After welding was finished I grinded down the weld on the top of anvil to make it nice and flat, and took a sanding disk to it to make it smooth.

Stay tuned for the next video in which we make a anvil stand, and test the anvil. Thanks for watching!
