So ähnlich die Texte der sieben O-Antiphonen von ihrer Form, ihrem dramaturgischen Aufbau und ihrem Inhalt sind, so unterschiedlich können die Gefühle sein, die sie hervorrufen: Vorfreude, Sehnsucht, Unruhe stille Erwartung, Zuversicht, Aufgeregtheit – in den Tagen direkt vor dem Weihnachtsfest, der Geburt des Erlösers. Folglich sind die Kompositionen von Manfred Länger in englischer Sprache auch im Charakter sehr verschieden und spannen in ihrer subtilen, feinfühligen Textausdeutung einen Bogen vom meditativ-sinnlich Ruhigen über das rhythmisch Aufgeregte bis hin zum Hymnischen.

As similar as the O Antiphons are in terms of their form, their dramaturgical structure and their content, the feelings they evoke can be just as different: anticipation, yearning, restlessness, quiet expectancy, confidence, excitement – in the days just before Christmas, the Birth of the Savior. Accordingly, the compositions by Austrian composer Manfred Länger are also very diverse in character, and in their subtle, sensitive interpretation of the text they range from the meditative-sensuously tranquil to the rhythmically excited to the hymnic.
