The marquess of Grillo is a good-natured, clever and women-loving man who is always inventing stories and cracking all types of jokes.

Though largely ignored outside of Italy, this happens to be one of the best comedies starring Italian comedy’s leading man Alberto Sordi. Here, he is a Marquis who frequently rebels against the society half out of boredom. Sordi is in top shape and the comedy is not restricted to an Italian culture but accessible to other ones as well. Furthermore, the costumes and settings of this period comedy are great.
