Today we traveled to Baler from San Jose, which is about a 2 hour drive. Upon arrival we went to meet Kuya Omar and his family at their farm. On the bridge we were crossing to get to the farm, we saw kids jumping from the bridge, so we had them do it again so we could watch up close. the water was too shallow so we opted out of jumping, and continued on our way to the farm. Once there, we took a quick tour, as everyone had already left (we were on Filipino time LATE!) but got to see ate Dialyn picking vegetables straight from their farm. We picked out some okra, then headed to the hotel to check in. We changed into our bathing suits before the sun went down to have a quick swim, but there was a thunderstorm, so we jumped in and quickly got back out to prepare for the night. We headed out after a shower to go to Kuya Omar’s birthday party, where we tried Kubli restaurant owned by his brother, Noel. The food was a delicious fusion of Filipino, American, and Mexican and the drinks were just as good. Taylor sang “Buwan” to close out the night and we slept early to prepare for the next day.
