We can strengthen metals by introducing dislocations through plastic deformation. Cold working, strain hardening, and work hardening are terms for this. We first review and then solve a problem. A cylindrical cold worked brass specimen has a ductility of 20%. After the cold-working process is complete, its radius is given. Find the radius of the cylinder before cold working.
