Wie war das damals, als in der Leipziger Innenstadt noch vor allem Trabis und Wartburgs und IFA-LKWs verkehrten? Als die Stadt noch als "Heldenstadt der DDR" wegen der Montagsdemos galt? Als die Universität Leipzig noch KMU (Karl-Marx-Universität) hieß und der City-Tower am Augustus-Platz noch Uni-Riese oder auch Steiler Zahn genannt wurde? Betrachtet man alte Aufnahmen, ist es fast wie eine Zeitreise, Stadtentwicklungen werden sichtbar, vor allem, wenn man die Ort auf Google StreetView vergleicht. Aufgenommen wurde dieses Zeitdokument im Februar 1990, neun Monate vor der Vereinigung der beiden deutschen Staaten.

How was it back then when above all Trabant and Wartburg cars and IFA trucks circulated in the centre of Leipzig? When the city was called "hero city of the GDR" because of the Monday demonstrations? When the university was still called Karl-Marx-University? Contemplating old videos it is almost like time-traveling, urban development becomes visible, especially if one compares the place on Google Streetview now. The shots of this contemporary document were taken in February 1990, nine months before the unification of the two German states took place.
