In loving memory of Serf Greidanus. A 40 year old friendship came to an end on 19 May last. A week earlier, realising his days were over, Serf had given me his 1966 Fender Coronado as a parting gift in the hospital he had been in for months. I spoke to him last on the morning of his dying day. This video honors him and features the guitar he gave me. Though Fender Coronados never gained much popularity among jazz guitarists, they actually sound very good, on a par with the Gibson ES 330 and the Epiphone Casino they were supposed to compete with at the time. I love the guitar already. Serf, love you dude ... Rest in peace.
