Caddo Lake State Park contains one of the most peaceful landscapes in Texas. The incredible Bald Cypress trees in the water make this a very enjoyable area to paddle your canoe or kayak through. The terrain adjacent to Big Cypress Bayou is surprisingly hilly and is a great place to go for a short day hike. Tent camping, screened shelters, and cabins are available within the park. I recommend booking well in advance before coming to visit. Boat tours are available nearby if you'd like to explore the area further.
