A glimpse at the process of making custom pro (competition speed) cornhole bags.

Beginning with the process of dye sublimation to try the design onto the polyester fabrics, we then cut the fabric into the individual printed squares that will become one half of the cornhole bag. Next we trace our template positioning the graphic control what’s visible on the finished bag. Next we sew along the template, and then again just outside of that seam:m. The second seam is not for strength or even backup, but instead to combat the fabric Unweaving, allowing it to pull through (“bursting”) the seam without actually breaking the threads. Once this is complete we trim the excess fabric, being careful to leave enough of a seam allowance (about 1/2”). The more fabric you leave increases the amount of weave between the seam that is putting pressure on the fabric, and the edge of the fabric, where the fabric would begin to unweave. More fabric decreases chances of an unweave but results in a sloppier appearance for the finished cornhole bay. Too little fabric and the weave can more easily pull apart. 1/2” has served us as a happy middle ground.
