Southern Cross station is the centre of Victoria's regional railway network, and is the largest railway station in the state. A short distance away is North Melbourne station, and there are several complex junctions around both. This video attempts to explain the track layout, and what routes trains normally take through this maze of track. The diagram used in this video does not show the many yards and sidings in this area - it would have been way too complicated - it just shows main running lines.
