Despite having precisely zero skiing lessons, Philip and I hit the slopes and taught ourselves how to ski (with a few days worth of snow-related fun while we waited for the slopes to open!). We then headed back down the mountain to Baku, for a day of sightseeing: the Maiden tower, Flame Towers, Zaha Hadid's Heydar Aliev Center, Icheri Sheher (the old city), and the Palace of the Shirvanshahs.
