Eritrea, a young country with great potential in sports, has been making significant strides in continental and international cycling competitions. It has produced world-class athletes such as Tour de France superstar Biniam Ghirmay, Merhawi Kudus, Natnael Berhane, Natnael Tesfatzion, Ammanuel G/S, and Daniel Teklehaymanot, who wore the King of the Mountain jersey in the Tour de France, along with many others who have won African and world championships. Eritrea has become the undisputed African Cycling Champion eight times since 2010. The prowess of the Eritrean national cycling team, which also reflects the national mantra of Eritrea at continental and international tournaments, is increasingly recognized by the sports community. The Eritrea National Team is in Zurich, participating in the UCI World Championship. Many Eritreans have come to Zurich to support the National Team.
