The car is equipped with three turbocharged gasoline engines. Two four-cylinder two-liter engines of varying degrees of boost develop 145 kW (197 hp) and 190 kW (258 hp). The roadster in the sports M-version has an inline six-cylinder engine with a capacity of 250 kW (340 hp). All engines are aggregated with the proprietary eight-speed automatic transmission Steptronic of the latest generation [81].

The front suspension with a swinging strut and two hinges on each side and the rear independent with five levers provide the sports car with the best balance between handling and comfort. The use of very rigid stretchers at the front and rear, aluminum levers and bearings combined with hubs also contributes to the excellent driving qualities of the new roadster. Steering with variable gear ratio and variable degree of gain ensures stability of control in a straight line, clear feedback in turns and low effort when maneuvering at low speed. The car's braking system is equipped with all the necessary electronic control systems, including an anti-lock system, a stabilization system and a traction control system[82].

Adaptive M-suspension, brakes and differential with electronic locking are included as standard in the sports version and bring the roadster's handling to an even higher level.
