Wastewater treatment is the process through which the sewage water is freed from various impurities allowing it's safe disposal or reuse. This lecture gives in depth detail about the process of Advanced or tertiary treatment in wastewater or sewage treatment system.

Tertiary treatment utilizes some advanced treatment technologies to finally remove all the remaining impurities from the water and making it suitable for drinking or discharge purposes.

Advanced treatment mainly focuses on :-

• Removal of small suspended solids
• Removal of remaining dissolved solids
• Removal of Nutrients (Nitrogen and Phosphorus)
