As a man, I think it is so important that you understand leadership and can lead at a basic level. As a man, you will be put in a leadership role in some way at some point in your life. And even if you never are, you can be a leader without actually being in charge. You don’t have to be at the top of the chain to be a leader. Just because you may not have actual authority doesn't mean you can’t be a leader to the people around you. Authority works top-down, leadership works in all directions, and I think people get the two confused all the time. As a man, at the very least you will be the leader and head of your household, which is the most important role you will have as a leader. So, understanding how to be a good leader is important. Although the way you lead your family will be vastly different from how you lead a team at work, a good leader is still a good leader and a bad leader is a bad leader. So, understanding what a good leader is and practicing those skills will only set you up for success down the road. There are a lot of skills needed to be a great leader, however, I have narrowed them down to what I believe are the top 8. The ones I think need to come first and that will set you apart from others. I hope this helps you understand leadership more and that you apply these things to your leadership roles.
