Hi Guys, today I’m reviewing the Cuisinart WMR-CA Round Classic Waffle Maker. LINK TO Cuisinart WMR-CA Round Classic Waffle Maker: http://amzn.to/1IDQE2G The housing is brushed stainless steel. It measures 10 inches long, 8 inches across and is very compact. It also stands on end for storage. There are rubber feet to keep it from moving around on your counter. The cord wraps around the bottom for storage. This unit bakes one waffle at a time.
The round cooking plates are non-stick. There are five settings for browning from light to deep brown. There’s a red indicator light that comes on when the unit is heating up and a green light that comes on when the unit is ready to use as well as when the waffle is cooked. The lid is weighted so it shouldn’t rise when the waffle is cooking. An instruction manual with recipes is included. I’ll make a few waffles to test this unit.

Before the first use, wipe the plates down with a damp cloth. Now the batter is really the most important part of making the waffle. I found that it is best to use a thick batter. I have tried using a thin matter and maybe poured too much and it did leak out the sides. The right amount of batter is a bit less than ½ cup. You’ll figure out what the right amount is after a few tries because it really depends on your batter. Before you make a waffle, wipe the plates with a little bit of oil. I only do this before making the first waffle. Close the lid, turn the setting to 4 and plug in the unit. The red light will come on. We’ll wait for the green light which means the unit is hot. Open the lid, the handle is cool enough to hold. Pour your batter right in the center and cover. The light will be red and will turn green once the waffle is cooked. Don’t open the lid and check to see if it’s done because you’ll have a sticky mess. Wait for the green light and open the lid slowly. The unit makes waffles very quickly. Remove the waffle with a non-stick safe tool. Close the lid and wait for the light to turn green, then pour in more batter. The waffle measures 7 inches across and is about ½ inch in thickness. There are four sections so it’s easy to cut or pull apart. It’s a little crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I like to place my waffles on some foil and keep it warm in a 200 degree oven until all of them are baked. The waffles taste delicious with some pure maple syrup. The one thing I don’t like about the waffle maker is the smell. I’ve used this unit about four times so far. Usually the plasticky smell of non-stick products go away after a few uses. But this unit still has a plasticky smell and that might bother some people. However, the waffle doesn’t smell and the taste is not affected.

Overall, the Cuisinart Waffle maker makes perfect waffles, very quickly. You can make savory waffles, standard waffles for breakfast or dessert waffles with whipped cream and chocolate sauce, bananas and candied nuts, fresh fruit or anything else you like. You can also make waffles ahead of time and freeze them so you can just heat them up for a quick breakfast. The link to the Cuisinart Waffle Maker is in the description below.
