A song for our good friend Bill Pearson.
We hope you'll read his book one day, it's time he put his beautiful words out into the world.
'The Words We Can't Find'
Second hand books in empty rooms
I should come and sit with you
I blur the lines on wasted rhymes
Run out of time, run out of time
On the words I can't find
I think of you, new life, new state
Overthink and lose the date
Remember how I'm always late
I'll see you soon, I'm so behind
But it's the words I can't find
Consumed in the hidden life of stars
Out of reach, the distance in our paths
At odds and there's nothing left but what we are
The way we lose ourselves in moments, unaware
How it goes, this life it flies
On and on, more lows than highs
Ten years on and you survived
Don't wait and leave your hope behind
In the words you can't find
Packing up and making space
Things you needed, just in case
Hard to lose and hard to find
The ones still living in your mind
In the words you can't find
Consumed in the hidden life of stars
Out of reach, the distance in our paths
At odds and there's nothing left but what we are
The way we lose ourselves in moments, unaware
