LSU was working Tennessee so thoroughly in the quarterfinals of the 1992 SEC Tournament that the Vols resorted to the unthinkable... trying to fight Shaquille O'Neal. With LSU leading by 22 halfway through the second half, Shaq had a clean look for another dunk before Tennessee's Carlus Groves grabbed Shaq around the waist and pulled him backwards. Shaq responded with an elbow throw and benches-clearing brawl erupted on the court. The scuffle was so wild and widespread that it saw LSU head coach Dale Brown get physical with Groves, a total of ten players were ejected and the game was delayed for 20 minutes.
