UPDATE TO THIS POST BELOW:

I'm not a e-bike reviewer, but I just got my Hyper Scorpion built and wanted to put up some initial reactions to the the Hyper.

First, I ordered my Hyper off the pre-sale on Indigogo, by the time I clicked "buy" I had done a ton of research and figured I had a pretty good idea of what I was getting. I watched every update video Juiced posted as the bike was being built and have been super excited about getting it. I say all that so you know I'm a Juiced fan, have been for a long time, but I think there is a difference between a review from a reviewer who is being delivered a bike from a company and a review from someone who had a box delivered to their house and put it together. It's just a different experience and perhaps, expectation.
So, this review is full of my opinions, which if you don't agree with, that's fine, I don't expect everyone to agree with my assessment. But, there are other things where Juiced screwed the pooch...which I'm surprised by, since Tora (the CEO and Founder) is a smart guy, leading a company full of smart, passionate people. And yes, this review is not just about the bike, it's about their website too. I get into that because the two are interconnected and the website, in my opinion, is part of the Juiced experience. The site should support their bikes and when it's not working properly that support is hurting.

Juiced can do better than this.
Juiced should do better than this.
Juiced has to do better than this.

UPDATE AFTER HAVING RIDDEN THE HYPER FOR A FEW MONTHS:
So...I've ridden my hyper for a few months and I like it, but I don't LOVE it. It's a really nice bike/moped, and honestly the shifter thing doesn't really bother me, mostly because I've never switched it out of 8th gear, not even once. I'm always in SPEED mode and either pedaling or using the throttle.
The bike has some quirks, like if you aren't careful it will take off on you (I think the cadence monitor - or whatever that is called) is really sensitive and I've had my Hyper suddenly accelerate into things, even though I wasn't touching the pedals or throttle. But, my biggest issue is the weight. I mentioned this in the video, but the Hyper is seriously heavy and when I added the seat extender it got even heavier. All that weight means the batteries aren't going to last as long and you can't go as far.
Knowing what I know now, I probably wouldn't have gotten this bike...and that is just a personal decision. I don't need something this big and heavy...and powerful. A simple e-bike probably would've fit my needs better. So at some point I'll probably end up selling it and getting a bike that is much more simple, but if you are looking for a bike/moped that looks cool, draws attention, is powerful and fast and full of really nice touches for a great price, you won't go wrong with this Hyper.
