In October 2023 storm Babet battered Ireland. In the Cork suburb of Glanmire, and the nearby town of Midleton, storm waters caused mayhem. In particular, the housing estate of Copper Valley Vue was badly affected by the local river overflowing its banks and flowing into the estate.

Dr Shirley Gallagher's house was badly affected by the flood which deposited some 15cm of sewage contaminated water throughout the ground floor.

As a sustainability campaigner, Dr Gallagher is bringing attention to the issues surrounding flooding through this video and forthcoming videos.
