November 24, 2018 my life changed forever. I have a lot to be thankful for this year. I was admitted into the Hospital in kidney failure. I knew I was sick, but I had no idea how sick I was. The gravity of the situation didn’t fully hit until my diagnoses 3 days later and that’s when I began the fight of my live. The old life ended and my new began. It’s definitely been a journey of a lot of ups and a lot of downs, but im just thankful to be on the ride!!

I tell my new fellow Weggies that not all change is bad. I no longer have my career, but I have SSDI and my part time job that keeps my mind working and helps our finances. I lost my ex husband of almost 20 years (75% of marriages do not survive a catastrophic illness), but I ended up marrying my true soul mate. I lost a lot of friends, but I learned who my true friends were and I’ve made so many new ones. I lost my health, but I’ve been blessed with excellent doctors and medications that have given me another chance. I should have died 3 times there’s absolutely no medical reason I’m alive today, but I’m incredibly thankful each morning to wake up. I have left the people I’m closest to physically, but I live in a place that gives my soul peace and my body less pain. I have drawn closer to God and I have been given a plan and a purpose that I try each and every single day to work at.
