After a long frustrating year and a half saga trying to get my Weber DCOE 40's working properly, I finally pulled the trigger on triple HU carbs from https://www.goodparts.com/product/man...
The simplicity of these carbs makes a world of difference to getting them dialed in and working.
When I first installed them and started them for the first time, the idle was super high but I could tell immediately that it was running smooth! After playing around with a few bits and bobs I finally got them to idle nicely at around 975 RPM according to my timing light that has a built in electronic tach.
I could not be happier! This is running really nice and I will eventually get these dialed in perfectly after the holidays. I just want to get a feel for them now.
So enjoy this video of a first drive in miserable cold Oregon weather. Microphone was placed near exhaust. If you hear any rattle, it's the license plate frame vibrating.
