MULTIMEDIA | Nick Wilson ’26, one of four temporarily suspended students, addressed fellow demonstrators at the Arts Quad encampment a couple of hours after learning about his suspension on April 26.

“In high school I discovered my passion, which was community organizing for a better world. I told Cornell University that’s why I wanted to be here,” Wilson told the crowd. “So I came to campus and I organized — and for this Cornell suspended me.”

The suspension is effective immediately, pending a resolution of the underlying conduct action. According to the Cornell Student Code of Conduct, suspended students do not receive credit for their coursework the semester, and class attendance, participation in examinations and utilization of University premises and facilities may be withdrawn.

Students who reside in University housing or are subscribed to a meal plan are given a short grace period to continue using those select University resources, according to the email sent to suspended students, which was obtained by The Sun. The email did not specify the length of the grace period or timeframe for students to vacate.
