Gerry Kelly recounts his experience breaking out of the Maze Prison, including shooting a prison officer in the head, and life on the run in Europe, and his choice to remain in the struggle rather than starting a new life.

Kelly is a former IRA volunteer who bombed the Old Bailey. Always controversial, now he is a key member of the negotiating team in the Northern Ireland peace process and a minister in the Northern Ireland government.
