I had the pleasure of reviewing Sam's new car, the 2017 Ford Fiesta ST. Please watch the video to hear my thoughts. This particular car is the Ford Fiesta ST-3 with the 1.6L Petrol engine and 33,000 miles on the clock.
Sam's ownership comments (Issues only):
- Boost comes in from a low RPM as the turbo is quite small.
- Wheel hop from OEM lower torque mount. I believe the ST came out from Factory with the standard 1.6 toque mount (aka roll restrictor) and it causes a lot of wheel hop/jult - more so from pulling away and going 1-2, 2-3, 3-4 in the gears etc
- Ride can be harsh and quite crashy. Although I know it's a hot hatch, the suspension is on the firm side. Saying that, I've got used to it now. But for the first month or so, it was annoyingly funny
- Molten orange paintwork looks red 90% of the time. Although it's not a bad thing, but a lot of jokes are made saying that the orange paintwork is red and not orange.
- Bumper sag below the headlights. This is a common issue where it doesn't line up and look flush against the headlights.
