The Exploratory AGBD Modeler application models aboveground biomass density (AGBD ) using the Global Ecosystem Dynamics Investigation (GEDI) Level 4A (L4A) dataset, optical and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imagery, and selected spectral indices. The app allows you to:
• Select a study area from the global protected areas database;
• Load and visualize optical (Landsat and Sentinel-2) and SAR (Sentinel-1 and ALOS PALSAR) satellite imagery within a specified date range;
• Calculate spectral indices such as the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), enhanced vegetation index (EVI), and soil-adjusted vegetation index (SAVI);
• Generate training points from GEDI L4A AGBD data;
• Train regression models (e.g., random forests, decision trees, KNN, and gradient boosting) to predict AGBD; and
• Visualize and download the predicted AGBD maps.
