Financing the trillions of dollars of investments required to decarbonize our economies will require not only considerable sums of money, but also new thinking and practices in finance. Lines between public and private financing may blur; risk will need to be considered holistically across product and financial markets; dynamic capital structures will need to evolve over time; and we will need to find new ways for funds to flow globally.
