Nest Box Observation 2024 ep.19 (May 22-24, 2024) - Capturing life in Nest Box 1, home to a family of Japanese Tits. This episode covers days 42-44 of the observation and days 11-13 since the eggs hatched.

The heartwarming sight of the mother bird and her chick snuggling their cheeks together is a highlight. However, this tender moment only lasted until the 13th day after hatching. In the mornings, they were still sleeping together, but after feeding, the mother bird would leave the nest box, and on that night, she didn't return to sleep with them...

What will become of the remaining eggs? It's concerning, thinking about potential rot or other issues. But with the chicks expected to fledge in just one week, perhaps the parents have decided to focus on the hatched chicks and power through.
