There are a lot of varieties of HALVA - made from grains, sesame and sunflower of course, which is popular in countries from the former soviet union but also in Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia and other Balkan countries. Instead of sesame we use roasted sunflower seeds, which are epic!

Products for a small batch:
150g flour (use whole wheat if you can, it tastes better)
Water - 50-100ml at max
160g sunflower seeds (this is the thing that we make sunflower oil from)
200g sugar (I have a mix of white and brown for better taste)
Vanilla is optional
10ml sunflower oil (optional, I skipped it by mistake but it was still good!
