If you are unfamiliar with the Hercules Inpulse 500, it is one of the more capable entry-level controllers for Serato. One of the gripes was how the FX section was implemented, which overrides the filter when activated and turns it into a wet/dry knob. Although not ideal, it's not the only controller that does this. Nevertheless, I may have found a way to repurpose some buttons to achieve maximum flexibility and create multilayer effects without sacrificing control over one another.

The only catch is Serato DJ Pro is required to unlock the remapping feature. Depending on your situation, it may be better to purchase a mid-tier controller considering SDJ Pro requires a $9.99 subscription or a hefty $249 price tag. Combined with the $300 for the controller, you may want to consider upgrading. Whichever you choose, I hope this video helps you make a decision if the FX section is one of your concerns.
