Join us on a hike to the epic coastal views from God’s Thumb and the Knoll. In this video, we’ll share the highlights and what you need to know to do the hike yourself. The trailhead is in Lincoln City on the central Oregon Coast, a two-hour drive west of Portland. You can find the trailhead by navigating to The Knoll at Cascade Villages Head Trail on Google Maps.

We did this hike on February 20th, so keep in mind there will likely be a lot mud if you go in the winter. The mud isn't a big deal for the hike to the viewpoint at the Knoll, but for the section of the hike to God's Thumb it can be a safety issue, so we would recommend microspikes or shoes with otherwise good traction.

The hike out to the ocean goes through beautiful moss-covered forest, where we saw a newt crossing the trail and a variety of very cool-looking mushrooms.

The recommended route on Alltrails is about 4.3 miles long. We made it a little longer by making it a loop and taking a different trail on the way back; there are a few different route options you can take.

This is a great place to visit if you're traveling to Oregon, or if you live in the area and want to find more awesome outdoor things to do!
