Summer is really one of the seasons that I look forward to the most when it comes to Kpop comeback because you just know that there is bound to have great songs during that period and NMIXX just nailed it completely with these two songs! I immediately fell for them and I know that I will be listening to them again and again!
I love how 'roller coaster' is refreshing is a picnic under the shade of a big tree kind of summer song while 'party oclock' is more of a magical, mystical, fantastical, forest fairy kind of summer song! What I love equally about these two songs is how smooth the transitions were and natural they were. It made it so easy to listen to them both and enjoy them in their entirety. I think the songs still feel very much mix pop but the transitions have been handled more delicately and I think that was the key for me to really be able to enjoy their music to the max! I guess it's a question of balance at the end of the day too! And here the balance was great!
The MV's though, didn't look to par with the songs. I can't tell what it is about them but they just feel meh compared to the songs themselves. I, again, don't quite understand the styling here?
But then again, I'm not watching music, I'm listening to them so it's not necessarily a deal breaker but just something I've noticed. Anyway, they haven't missed this year!
