This project is an extension of Casa AB's previous exploration of apartment interventions in Eixample, Barcelona. Despite similarities to the previous project, this project has significant differences in natural lighting and space distribution. The project aims to innovatively combine traditional values with new elements, while respecting the house's modernist heritage.

The apartment is located in Eixample, a district that reflects Barcelona's architectural and urban heritage. The buildings in this district, generally built in a modernist style, have well-organized floors but tend to be segmented. This project seeks to change the distribution of existing space by inserting new elements, creating an open and continuous flow of space.

The main difference between this project and previous projects is the natural lighting and space distribution. This second apartment is on the first floor and tends to be darker than the first. However, this project still features innovative design elements to optimize space and lighting.

The design of this project is based on three main elements: white ceiling, oak furniture and marble stone. These three elements form a spatial flow that leads to the division between day and night areas. The addition of a new level of 2.50m from the original floor results in a more open and continuous space, with key spaces such as the kitchen becoming the main focus.

The kitchen is the centerpiece of the project, located in the center of the apartment in a beautifully carved marble stone structure. The open kitchen space connects the various public areas, creating a seamless flow between the living room, dining room and office. Natural materials such as oak, white marble and brass were chosen to remain neutral and fit in with the apartment's rich modernist ornamentation.

The overall design of the project aims to combine traditional values with new elements in an innovative way and respect the modernist heritage of the house. This approach makes the project an intervention that not only renews the space, but also enriches and maintains the character of the house.
