After having been the hope of an entire people in the 1950s, oil became, half a century later, the worst of their nightmares, generating corruption, kidnappings, civil war. In the Niger Delta, black gold has awakened the fiercest appetites and generated the biggest oil spill of all time. For twenty years, the government army and oil companies have fought hand in hand against the rebels, who are demanding better sharing of resources. Because, in the delta, despite an oil windfall amounting to billions of euros each year, the population still lives on less than two euros per day. This documentary, in the form of a road movie, shows a violent reality: the true price of a few liters of gasoline at the pump.
