ABP Ananda Live: ১৫০ বছরের ইতিহাসে ইতি টেনে কলকাতা থেকে কার্যত উঠে যাচ্ছে ট্রাম। মডেল হিসেবে মাত্র একটি রুটে চালানো সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়েছে। যানজট এবং দুর্ঘটনা এড়াতেই ট্রাম পরিষেবা তুলে দেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত বলে জানালেন পরিবহণমন্ত্রী। শহরের বুকে কান পাতলে মাঝে মধ্য়েই শোনা যায় তাদের চাকার শব্দ। তবে সময়ের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে, ধীর ধীরে কমেছে তাদের যাতায়াত, বর্তমানে কলকাতার বুকে ২ টি রুটে চলত ট্রাম। একটি রুট ছিল বালিগঞ্জ ধর্মতলা, অন্য়টি ছিল শ্য়ামবাজার ধর্মতলা। এবার সেই রুটেও ট্রাম না চালানোর সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে রাজ্য় সরকারের পরিবহণ দফতর। পরিবহণ মন্ত্রী জানান, এবার থেকে শুধু ধর্মতলা থেকে ময়দান পর্যন্ত পর্যটকদের জন্য় একটি সুজ্জিত হেরিটেজ ট্রাম চালানো হবে।
