The battle of Chickamauga continued on the morning of September 19 when it ignited near Jay’s Mill. Initially starting as a small engagement over water, the fight steadily grew. Confederate cavalry commander Nathan Bedford Forrest plunged his troopers into the woods west of Jay’s Mill, where they met a devastating volley from Col. John Croxton’s infantry. Crouton’s men would then find themselves outflanked by CSA infantry. Will the fight continue to escalate?
