Nangal bawa village also called Nangal Sahdan is located in Tehsil Shahdara and District Sheikhupura (nowdays Tehsil Muridke District Sheikhupura). Before 1947 Sikhs settled in this village with few muslim and had ideal relation with eachother. In 1947, the situation became very bad. When the riots started, the Sikhs migrated to East Punjab, but some elders who could not walk due to their age remained in the village. Thugs and hooligans came from neighboring villages who fed them beef and killed them bruitly.
