Today's video, we are finally about to fire up this engine for the first time and do a cam break in for 20 minutes.
The carbs are not tuned. They came off of a different, larger engine recently so we slapped them on and crossed our fingers. Jetting should be good enough to run for the break in.
The purpose of a cam break in is to get the flat tappet cam and lifters to mate properly. We are running a high zinc oil and also added in a little more lucas oil zinc for preventative measure. Plus I put the proper break in lube on the cam and lifters during assembly that helps in this process.

This is a thick wall 92mm pistons and a 74mm stroker crank. Using the proper rods will almost eliminate the need to clearance the engine case. This engine will have an Engle W110 cam, 8.1:1 compression, CB Performance Panchito 044 heads and dual carbs.
We will make the compression ratio very reasonable so this will go into any of the VW's that he owns including his 1961 Panel Bus.
