This time-lapse video was created from the countless hours of footage from a 14 month long process building my very first cedar strip canoe. This 15' prospector ranger canoe was made following canoe craft book, with a few deviations to make it more customized (such as making handles, scuppers, etc).

I was fortunate to be able to make a staple-less canoe by creating custom jigs to hold down each strip as they were glued on. Each glued strip had to dry before I could start on the next one due to the jigs/not using staples.

Fun fact- all the strips used on this canoe actually came from an old telephone pole.

Many thanks to the several individuals who helped me in the canoe building process. Couldn't have done it without you!
