Tteokbokki is one of the most popular street foods in Korea.
After many attempts, I finally made this TTEOKBOKKI recipe.
This recipe is the same taste as the tteokbokki you ate on the streets of Korea.
I hope you enjoy it😉

★ Please prepare a spice jar and a measuring spoon ★
If you do not have a measuring spoon, you can use a spoon and a teaspoon
However, it can not be measured correctly and taste can be changed.

Ingredients (for 2 people)

Sauce
--- Table spoon ---
Fine red pepper powder 7Tbs
Starch syrup 5Tbs (=Corn syrup)
White sugar 1.5Tbs
Beef soup stock 0.5Tbs (I use DASIDA)
-----tea spoon-----
Salt 1.5ts
Miwon(MSG) 0.5ts
------------------------------------------
Black Pepper powder
a little water

Main Ingredients
Tteokbokki rice cake 400g (made of wheat flour)
Fish cake(Eomuk) 2 sheets
Green onion
Cold water 500ml
(The amount of water is not that important because it can be boiled.)

Directions
1. Make a tteokbokki sauce and Aging in the fridge for a day

2. Pour about 100ml of water into the prepared sauce.
(If you put it in water, you can put the sauce neatly without lumps)

3. Pour 500ml of water and the sauce in the pot and add tteok.
(The point is to put tteok in a cold broth and boil!
This way, the sauce is added into the tteok and tastes better.)

4. Add Green onion.

5. Add fish cake just before completion.

6. Now, you are master of Tteokbokki~!!

If you do not have fine red pepper powder in your house,
sift the red pepper powder and use it like me~!

* Q & A *
- Is it possible to replace starch syrup with oligosaccharides, corn syrup or honey?
You can use corn syrup or oligosaccharide.
(The amount of syrup must be adjusted
because each product has a different degree of sweetness)
But don't use honey instead of starch syrup.
The strong scent of honey can spoil the taste of tteokbokki.

- Is it possible to use light brown sugar?
Brown sugar has its own taste and can spoil the taste of tteokbokki.
I recommend using white sugar for clean sweetness.

-Why does this recipe use a lot of MSG?
This is a recipe that imitates the Tteokbokki(Korean street food)
Commercial recipes contain a lot of MSG ...
It is the inevitable factor to the taste
