Hello everyone! Turbodiesel "four" Mercedes OM651 has done things. This engine simply failed serially for one reason: it lifted the liners of the connecting rods of the 3rd and 4th cylinders. Everyone rushed to blame the variable displacement oil pump, but the problem was different.
In this review, we have just a unique case: the connecting rod of the 4th piston punctured the cylinder block. But the condition of the engine is also unique. It looks like this instance has never had an oil change. Regardless, this OM651 held on to the last. Is it such an unreliable engine? Or is there simply a problem with the service and the "riders"?
