On Sunday, November 5th, 2017 the Michigan State University Pompon Team competed at Mid American Collegiate High Kick Championship and was awarded first place!

This year, the team brought to life the magical “Be Our Guest” scene from the Disney classic “Beauty and the Beast”! Led by our lovable featured characters – Lumiere, Belle, Mrs. Potts, and Cogsworth – we peppered in swirling napkins and a proper wait staff complete with giant silverware. “Go on, unfold your menu…Take a glance and then you'll…Be our guest oui, our guest…Be our guest!”

MSU Pompon competed against very talented and creative teams from Atomic Pom, Grand Valley State University, Saginaw Valley State University, the University of Michigan, Davenport University, and Washtenaw Community College. We were humbled and proud to be awarded first place and with a score of 302.5 out of a possible 330.
MSU Pompon excelled in judged categories including appearance, formations / transitions, choreography, use of music, team unity and precision, execution / form, height of kicks, and showmanship / emotion.
