Let me get this out in the open off the bat: I'm NOT a street going motorcycle rider! I don't particularly enjoy riding on the streets here in Central Florida. They're boring to me in my area (as you'll see in the video), potentially dangerous due to the proximity of the touristy Orlando area (LOT's of people unaware of where they are or need to be going), and are really best suited for daily commuting big boys like Harley's and Goldwings. Definitly NOT the type of roads you'd enjoy on a dual sport bike... So why did I get a dual sport and why am I testing it on the roads in this video? Well although I prefer the dirt, the biggest reason I got this bike was the ability to participate in adventure rides such as the Dixie Dual Sport Cross Florida Rides (https://dixiedualsport.com/cross-flor...) and the one that sparked this initiative - which I'll be doing two weeks from when this video is published - the Bear Creek Sportsmen Quarry Run in Upstate NY during our yearly summer vacation there (http://bearcreeksportsmen.com/quarry-.... These types of events require fully street legal bikes, and that's really where you get painted into a corner on what bikes you can target. I really want a motocross bike that can rip the track and trails, a Honda CRF450X or RX would've fit my needs VERY well outside of the street legal requirement based on my type of riding (mostly trails with some light MX racing mixed in). The KTM/Hus 350 street legals were considerations as well, but I wanted to stay loyal to Honda based on having them all of my life. So, here we are! The Honda CRF450RL was the bike that satisfied the street legal requirements for the rallys, and had enough MX race bike DNA to allow me to enjoy the track and trails as well (albeit with a bit of added heft!).

With very little road riding being my goal, I still need to learn how this bike handles the road and what it is capable of. I do visit the area gas stations for refueling and to grab the occasional hot dog, enjoy a sunset cruise around the neighborhood, and to get some fresh air while shedding off some stress of the work week, and this is the typical type of ride I do for the above criteria, so this is my first experience doing those things on the bike!
