"The Empty Chair" is a well-known BNI Education Slot, and one that is used to show the members the importance of being present in the meeting - or to send a substitute. However, the problem with the "Empty Chair" BNI Education Slot is that it's almost always delivered to a room where members are absent - the people it's aimed at are simply not there to see it!

So what's the alternative? In this BNI Ed Slot I look at how BNI chapters can deal with absences. How can you stop members from not turning up and failing to send a sub? How can you explain the importance of being present to them, when they're not even present to hear it?
